The Barn at Sunset Farm (Acadia)

This former horse barn has been lovingly converted to a rustic and charming living space, open and full of light. The barn overlooks acres of pastureland, with sunset views you can enjoy from your private deck. From the wide pine panelling throughout, to the barn doors incorporated into the walls, to the modern appliances, you will find all you need for a comfortable and relaxed place to return to after enjoying Acadia and the surrounding areas. Weekly rentals only, Friday-Friday.
The space
The barn is approximately 1300 Sq Ft total, with a living area downstairs and a very large upstairs bedroom. There is a large 200 Sq Ft deck on the pasture side, and a smaller 60 Sq Ft deck on the southern side of the barn. With almost 10 acres of property, there is plenty of room to roam. We live on the property. This rental is brand new and we have been working on the barn for over a year now to make it a unique and cozy space, full of space and light. There is a fire pit behind the Barn for your use. I got to tell you, the stars on a clear night from here are amazing to watch.
Other things to note
We live about 20 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There are many other attractions nearby also. Lamoine State Park and Beach are only about 6 miles from here. If you decide to travel further up the coast, we are not far from Schoodic Point, a part of Acadia National Park that is not on Mount Desert Island and that is well worth visiting. There are many nature preserves near us also with hiking and swimming opportunities. You will find that anything East of us is the beginning of the “non-touristy” part of Maine.
